Learn how to use Photoshop to build 3D planets and spaceships and composite them into a dreamscape featuring a mysterious off-world mining colony.
- [Voiceover] Our story here is an offworld mining town on some planet in some distant galaxy somewhere. Something's happened there and there hasn't been any activity for a while so we have a spaceship coming in to investigate. Now, how did we create this scene? Well, it's pretty simple. We started out with an image like this for a foreground. Perfect for our scene because it had the basic structures that we need. And a background, way off in the distance, but in this particular case it became the great backdrop and foreground there, and the foreground in front of our terrain.
The planets that we see back there, well those were created right in Photoshop. We got a building, a little piece of Alcatraz taken from a boat. Same thing with the tanks, same boat ride. And then the ship itself was also created entirely in Photoshop. So we're gonna see all the different things that went in to creating this. The 3D functions are the spaceship, the planet, and the planet in back. Everything else is just manipulating bad vacation shots. It's just a question of knowing how to use the tools and having the imagination to come up with the concept in the first place.
Now let's see how this all came together.
