- Now in addition to matching…the natural noise in a photograph…you can also introduce credible noise…using the blur gallery.…An advanced specific filter for doing that is Field Blur.…We'll go ahead and switch over to this image here…and this is a selfie that I captured with an iPhone…and as a result we have some pretty choppy transitions…that would benefit from a little bit of noise…and that's something that Field Blur does very nicely.…Now I want to keep this effect editable…so I'm going to start by converting this layer…to a smart object…by double clicking in the background…here inside the layers panel…and I'll just go ahead and call this layer couple…and now we'll right click in the image window…with the rectangular marquee tool…as you can see right here…and I'll choose convert to smart object.…
Now I'll go up to the filter menu…choose blur gallery…and choose Field Blur…and the reason Field Blur is so useful for this purpose…is because it has just this one option and nothing more…so you don't have to deal with…
