Improving a low-light image

- I'm starting again here with an original image because a lot of people get confused about what edits to do in Lightroom and what edits to do in Photoshop. So I'm gonna walk you through what I would do in Lightroom and then hand off the image to you to finish in Photoshop. One of the big problems, as we touched on earlier, is you see it onscreen and you go, "That's right." But screen and paper are so different, you have to go by the numbers. Very often what I do is work up tonal relationships that I like onscreen, sometimes using a lot of adjustment layers, then I go back and add another set of adjustment layers that correct the image for print. So there are a lot of different stages and places that I'm making edits. There are my initial edits here in Lightroom, followup edits either with additional tools in Lightroom or in Photoshop, and then sometimes another round of printing edits.
