- Just like Curves, Levels can be quite effective…at fixing contrast issues.…In this case, let's take a look at a rasterized file.…Now, if you had a RAW file, I would do this adjustment…in the Camera RAW dialogue.…But, if you're dealing with an image that's…already been converted, or maybe you only have a JPG or TIF,…the adjustment layer really comes in handy.…Let's start by adding that adjustment layer for Levels,…and then option or alt clicking on the word 'Auto.'…You'll note this brings up that Auto Color Corrections box.…In this case, I prefer the monochromatic color correction.…
I don't want to change the colors at all…and I'll even leave snapping off.…I like the warmish tint.…That did a nice job of pushing the colors,…but if I want to go further,…Finding Dark and Light can do that…or the Brightness and Contrast…will make a strong, overall adjustment.…Now, I like that and I'll click okay,…but here's a simple thing.…If you want to just boost that effect,…simply right-click on that layer and duplicate it,…so you have a second copy of Levels.…
