Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Healing and cloning in Camera Raw, part of Photoshop CS3 Portrait Retouching Essentials.
In this movie, we will be working on the file, "jenny_kim.tif".…Go and select that file and on the Mac press "Command+R", on a PC.…press "Ctrl +R" to open this image up inside of Adobe Camera Raw.…The next thing we want to do is "Double Click" the "Zoom tool" to take this image to 100%.…Then press the "Space Bar" and move around the image.…One of the things that I'm noticing is that, there are some background elements that I need to retouch out.…In particular let's work on this chair down here.…So I'm going to select the Retouch Tool, B key, and go ahead and click about in the middle of that shape and expand that out.…
Now I've a couple of different options.…I've Healing and Cloning.…Now if I use the Healing Tool, let's go ahead and try that.…One of the things that's going to happen is, is I'm going to have this bottom part…of this Healed area kind of bleeding in with the chair.…No matter where I move this, it is kind of a tricky spot, because of the content there.…So Healing is not going to work in this case.…
