Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Font families and glyph alternates, part of Photoshop CC 2015 New Features.
- [Voiceover] In this movie I'll show you around…a couple of type enhancements.…First of all, Photoshop now groups fonts by family,…which I think we can all agree is welcome news.…And secondly, we have these things…called On-Canvas Glyph Alternates,…which you may or may not end up finding useful.…So the first thing I'm going to do is,…with this editable text layer active…here inside the Layers panel,…I'm going to select my type tool.…And then, notice this first field up here…allows you to switch between different fonts.…And, notice, if I click on this down-pointing arrowhead,…I am going to see a list of fonts,…all of which are organized by family.…
So, instead of seeing every single style…associated with Adobe Caslon Pro inside the font list,…I can go ahead and switch from one font family to another.…Or, if I want to see all of Caslon Pro styles,…I can go ahead and click on this arrowhead…in order to expand the font, like so.…And notice as I travel down the menu,…I'm going to preview the font in real time.…The only problem here is this particular version…
