Fixing exposure and color with curves

All right, in this movie we're going to continue to work with Curves and masking, in order to correct exposure. Yet for this one, you're going to have to hold on to your hats and glasses, because what we're going to do is apply a Curves adjustment. We're then going to mask that adjustment into a specific area. But we'll also then need to duplicate that adjustment, so that we can correct the color as well. Well, this is a portrait that I captured of Lynda, one of my all-time favorite people. She's one of the cofounders and owners of lynda.com.

Yet when I opened this photograph up, I was so disappointed, because my exposure was off. You can see here on this side of the frame, it's just too dark. Well, let's fix that with the Curves adjustment. Here we'll click on the Curves adjustment layer icon and then we'll just go ahead and click and drag up in order to brighten up part of this photograph. In doing that the picture already just looks a ton better...
