Join Chris Orwig for an in-depth discussion in this video Fixing a crooked image, part of Photoshop CC 2015 for Photographers: The Basics.
- In this movie we'll be working with three photographs,…and here we'll take a look at…how we can use the crop tool…in order to straighten a crooked image.…With this photograph that I captured…of this umbrella which was floating in the ocean,…you can see that the horizon line…is really, really crooked.…So I want to level that or straighten that out.…To do so, we'll select the crop tool.…With the crop tool, we'll just use the default ratio as is.…And in the options bar, you'll encounter a tool…which is the straighten tool.…
Looks like a little level icon.…When we click on that, what we can then do…is position our cursor over the image…and click and drag across something…that should be level or straight.…You can do this with a line…which is horizontal or vertical.…Then let go, and what Photoshop will do…is it will rotate the image to make that line straight…and also crop the image as needed.…You can see it needed to crop in a little bit…because there isn't anything up in this area.…Then I'll double click in that area…
