- [Voiceover] Welcome to Eye Enhancement for Portraiture with Photoshop. I'm John Derry and in this course, I will show you how you can focus the viewer's gaze on your subject's eyes. I'm a big fan of non-destructive workflows. By working this way, it enables treating an image like a malleable medium that we can shape over time, and I'll show you how to work in this style that enables maximum adjustability. We'll start by reducing extraneous elements that may distract the viewer. We'll use contrast to enhance the area around the subject's eyes, and next, we'll take advantage of our unconscious attention to contrast.
Our visual systems automatically seek out areas of contrast, and we can use this to further enhance the portrait's focus on the eyes. We'll also look at adding the sparkle of life to the eyes with catchlights and reflections. By the end of this course, you will have the tools to increase focus on your subject's eyes, which is a hallmark of the successful portrait. Now, let's get started with Eye Enhancement for Portraiture with Photoshop.
