Extruding the outline to a 3D object

- To turn our outline into a 3D object all we have to do is go to the 3D menu and choose New 3D Extrusion from Selected Path. As always, we get the message saying "You're about to create a 3D layer. "Would you like to switch to the 3D workspace?" Yes we would. There is our object. So we don't get confused by the original let's hide that background and now we can see just the object itself. Let's turn it around and we can see it has extruded that as a very simple button shaped object. We want it to lie flat when it's printed so let's rotate it. We'll make sure we can see our Ground Plane. And now, let's go to the Properties panel and in the mesh pane rotate it so that it's rotated 90 degrees around the X axis, and we'll move it to the ground. The question now is, how big do we make it? Well, when we look at our secondary view, we can see it's currently 252.76 cm wide, nearly eight feet, rather too big for our button.
