Expert-level black and white with a gradient map

- When creating a black and white effect, the gradient map is a very nice polishing touch. It allows you to put just a little extra hint of color in there to warm the black and white and give it a bit of personality. In this case, here's the end state. And you'll see that there's the black and white adjustment, and then just a small hint. Let's explore this. We'll start by adding the black and white adjustment. Clicking on auto does a pretty good job. And with the on-image tool, I can easily refine the transitions here for the different zones. Now, to give it a bit of personality, I'll come to adjustments and click on gradient map. If we click to open, I can scroll down to the legacy category. Here, there's a bunch of cool choices. My favorite is this photographic toning category. If you don't see the legacy gradients here, make sure you go to the gradients panel and from the sub menu here, load the legacy gradients.…
