For some portraits and subject, maximizing the eyelash and liner of the subject gives that final touch of contrast that makes your portrait look amazing. By using the size jitter tool and the airbrush painting brush you can emulate your own eyelashes and even match the subject's lashes as well.
- [Voiceover] The use of mascara, eyeliner…and other beauty aides to enhance eye appearance…is simply a time honored analog version…of much of what we've been doing in this course.…Now, in this movie we're going to do…a bit of eyelash addition to provide…yet another contrast enhancement technnique…to the overall goal of directing attention to the eyes.…So let's get started here.…And the very first thing I'm going to do…is I want to create a new layer to do this on.…Let's go in here and call this "Eyelashes"…and let's take a look at the eyes here…so we can evaluate what we need to do…and you can see there's some gaps in here…and the other thing that's noticeable…at least at this very close level,…is you can see that the hairs are not just perfect wisps.…
There's actually some variation in them.…And I want to match that so that the overall look…is going to be consistent.…If I did a completely different looking lash in here…it would probably be noticeable.…So, best practice here is to try to match…as best you can the look of the existing lashes…
