- Hello, I'm Sue Jenkins, and welcome to efficient web design workflow. If you've ever searched Google for the term web design workflow, you'll find that most results focus on the entire web design and development process, from defining the scope of work, gathering content and wireframing, to designing, production, testing, and post launch site maintenance. While that information is good to know, most of those workflows barely describe what goes on during the extremely important design phase. In this course, I'll share my own web design process from project start to finished web design mockup ready for development.
By taking a peek at another designer's workflow, you can gain a better understanding of the logical order in which that web designer approaches the design phase of a new project. This training covers four key components: sketch, moodboard, design, and revision. I'll start by wireframing to get a sense of the site's structure and layout. Then move on to brainstorming ideas in sketch form. Next is the creation of a moodboard that captures the essence of the business in aesthetic terms. From there comes the designing of the mockup and fine tuning the layout, followed by making any last minute revisions before finalizing the design.
Throughout the course, I'll share a lot of best practices that can help you increase productivity and boost your creative process. So whether you're brand new to web design or looking for suggestions on ways to work smarter and more efficiently, welcome to efficient web design workflow.
