Duplicating Smart Objects

- [Instructor] There are many situations when you might want to create multiple copies of the same image within a single document. In this example, we're going to create four different versions of a photograph: one in color, another in black and white, one that's kind of toned down to look more vintage, and one that's partially hand-colored. Then, once we set up the template, it's easy to edit the content or replace all instances of the photo for different clients. I'll choose File and then Place Embedded. I'll navigate to the 05 Working With Templates and I'll double-click on Portrait01. I'll tap Return or Enter in order to apply that transformation, and then from the Window menu, I want to show to the guides that I've already included in the document. With the move tool selected, I will reposition the portrait over on the left-hand side. And because I placed the image, Photoshop placed it as a smart object, I'll now…
