Dodging and burning uneven, faded areas

- In this lesson we'll be using the dodge and burn tools to correct the faded and darker areas in the image and we'll be tackling some of the lighter areas on the lady's jacket as well. The main detail we need to look at is this dark area above the man's head, some blotching below his feet. His jacket and trousers and the lady's jacket in some areas of lightness. So we'll start by using the dodge tool in the top left corner of the image. We're gonna use a soft brush and shadows set to nine percent and I'm going to enlarge my brush and dodge the area at the top left here, just using the dodge tool on a very soft or low opacity brush, so I don't make any major mistakes. The key mind viewers amongst you will know that I'm not dodging on a separate layer. I'm dodging on the base layer. Because I'm using such small and gentle adjustments I don't think I'm gonna be making any major mistakes, so it's really nothing to worry about. I don't need to dodge on a separate layer.
