Developing a black-and-white turtle
In this movie, I'll show you how to convert an image to black and white inside camera RAW, and I'll also demonstrate the little known but exceedingly important contributions made by the temperature and tint values in a black and white world. Now, because we're working with the camera RAW smart object, I can revisit my camera RAW settings just by double clicking on the smart objects thumbnail here inside the layers panel, and just for the sake of demonstration, so that we can see what a big difference converting to black and white makes, I'll go ahead and crank the vibrance value all the way to its maximum of plus 100, and I'll take the saturation value up to something pretty ridiculous, like let's say, 66, and then I'll click ok to accept that modification, and we end up with a much more colorful image. Now, I'll go ahead and double click on the thumbnail again to once again revisit camera RAW, and I'll zoom in a click, as well, and maybe drag my turtle down a little bit so that I can…
