Deploying path outlines as a vector mask

- [Narrator] Alright now just as with alpha channels inside the channels panel, paths in the paths panel don't really do anything, they just sit there at your beckon call in case you'd like to use them at some later date. If you want to use them right now then you need to deploy them as either selection outlines layer masks, or best case scenario, vector masks. And let me show you how that looks. For starters I'm going to switch to my black arrow tool, the path selection tool, if you will. And I'll go ahead and click off the path outline to deselect it. Notice we've got two ears right here, and let's say I want to convert them to selection outlines, then I would drop down to this dotted circle at the bottom of the path panel and I would click on it and I would end up with a couple of selection outlines that I can use any way I like. Alright let's say instead however, I want to convert one ear to a selection outline and leave the other alone. In that case I would press control D, or…
