Creating seamless, tiled patterns
- [Instructor] Photoshop's pattern preview makes it easier than ever to create patterns that tile seamlessly, that we can then save and apply to other elements in our images. All right, with this document, you can see that I have four different layers. They are shape layers, but I am going to convert them to smart objects. If you had pixel base layers, you definitely want to convert them to smart objects in order to help keep the image quality. So I'll right click or use Control + click on the Mac, and choose to create or convert to a smart object. I'll do that for all four of these layers so that now I can resize them and scale them and also tile them without losing any quality. Okay too preview the pattern, I'll use the View menu and then choose Pattern preview. Then I can zoom out using command minus so that we can see how this would look as a seamlessly tiled pattern.
