Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating and scaling a line of type, part of Photoshop CC 2017 One-on-One: Fundamentals.
- [Instructor] In this movie,…I'll show you how to create a single line…of what's known as point text inside Photoshop,…and I'll also demonstrate the wonders…of working with vector-based type inside this program.…So notice that I'm working inside a very low res image.…I'm viewing it a 100% right now…and this will allow me to demonstrate…what happens to text when you increase the size of an image.…Now let's say we want the text to descend into these clouds…which is something you can uniquely do inside Photoshop…that you can't pull off nearly as easily…inside Illustrator, InDesign or any of the other…Creative Cloud programs.…
So, the first thing I'm going to do is select the clouds…and jump them to a new layer.…And I'll do so using the quick selection tool,…which you may need to choose from the magic wand tool…flyout menu.…And now I'll go ahead and make sure the auto enhance…checkbox is turned on up here in the options bar…and I'll drag across these clouds…in order to select them like so.…Alright, now I want to soft the edges…
