There seems to be a tendency to think about an object that you want to extract …out of an image as separate object and to not really think about the relationship …between that object and the background. In this case, for example, I have a …picture of a pigeon. Yes, I actually took a picture of a …pigeon, I don't know why, but it seemed like an interesting subject at the time. …And I might tend to think about the pigeon versus the background. …And so when I want to create a composite image, perhaps putting this pigeon onto a …different background, I might be thinking just about the pigeon and the background …and then I'd start thinking about the fuzzy feathers of the pigeon, and that …that's going to be a challenge in terms of compositing the image.…
But there are variety of other ways we can think about the distinction between …the subject and the background. For example, we might think about light …versus dark or green versus not green as is the case here. …There are certainly some green elements to the pigeon, but not too much, so …
