Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating a fake miniature with Tilt Shift, part of Photoshop CC 2017 One-on-One: Mastery.
- [Instructor] In this movie I'll show you…how to take this ancient abbey that…I captured in Ireland and we're going to…turn it into a fake miniature so that it…looks much smaller than it actually is…using the Tilt-Shift filter, which allows you…to blur the foreground and background…of an image while leaving the mid section in focus.…Now of course we want to apply Tilt-Shift…as an editable smart filter so I'll…double click on the background here…inside the layers panel.…I'll call this guy Hore Abbey because…that's what it is, and click OK.…And then I'll right click inside the image window…with the Rectangular Marquis Tool…and choose Convert to Smart Object.…
Next you want to go up to the filter menu,…choose Blur Gallery, and choose Tilt-Shift…in order to expand the Tilt-Shift controls…in the top right corner of the screen…as well as display these additional controls…here inside the preview window.…Now if I zoom out you can see that we've got…the usual pin and it represents the…in focus portion of the image.…You can reduce the focus if you like…
