Creating an ethereal effect with Clarity

In some cases, there's an effect that I like to apply to my images, that isn't really within Photoshop per se, but rather in Adobe Camera Raw, and that means you can apply that effect as you convert your raw capture for use in Photoshop. I have just such a raw capture here, and so I'll open that image, and because it is a raw capture. Rather than opening directly within Photoshop, it will open up in Adobe Camera Raw. And here, I can apply a variety of adjustments to the image. I can adjust the overall color temperature and tint if I want to alter the color appearance in the photo, I can adjust exposure and contrast, I can brighten or darken highlights, shadows, whites and blacks.

And I can also adjust clarity and this is one of the more interesting effects. Generally speaking, you would increase clarity in order to increase clarity and it's sort of like sharpening. It enhances overall contrast and detail within the image but, without the artifacts and the h...
