Join Chris Converse for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating editable SVG graphics from shape layers, part of Design the Web: Adobe Generator for Graphics.
- [Voiceover] When we use shape layers inside…of Photoshop CC in conjunction with Adobe Generator,…we can create SVG graphics that are fully vector…and editable inside of a text editor.…So to demonstrate this I'm going to use…the websitedesign.psd we've been using…throughout the course.…I'm going to come over here to the Layer panel,…going to come over here and turn off the logo layer.…Next we'll switch back to the exercise files.…Let's open up travel logo.ai up inside of Illustrator.…Now inside of Illustrator we have a vector graphic.…If I hit Command or Control+Y,…we can see all of the vector shapes here.…
So I'm going to select all of these.…Come up to the Edit menu, come down and choose Copy.…And now with that artwork on the Clipboard,…let's switch back to Photoshop.…Come up to the Edit menu and choose Paste.…Now in this dialog box here,…instead of clicking Smart Object,…we're going to come down and choose Shape Layer,…then click OK.…What this will do is take all that vector data…from Illustrator and create vector shapes…
