Adobe Photoshop is a great tool for correcting color and exposure for photos and video footage. What tools do you have that you can use to correct a video file’s color and exposure? In this video, join author Richard Harrington as he walks you through how to create black and white effects in Adobe Photoshop.
- One of the adjustment layers that is offered…is the black and white adjustment layer.…This can be used to give your footage…a black and white effect…or when you combine it with blending modes,…is an excellent tool for contrast.…Let's go to the beginning of our sequence.…We'll take a look at our first shot of traffic here.…With that shot selected,…I'm going to click on the black and white adjustment layer.…The shot is instantly converted to black and white.…From the preset list,…you'll find different filters available…to emphasize the different areas.…
And you see it mixes things,…creating a custom black and white effect.…So for example, as we move the yellow slider,…you see it brings out the center of the flowers…and the green slider affects the conversion of the grass.…While the blue is affecting the highlights from the sky.…And magenta here, not affecting much…but the glow on the road.…So by getting a custom mix,…you can find the right balance.…
Additionally, you'll find options including tint.…This will allow you to assign a subtle tint to the scene…
