- So, here's our lizard model. We can give it some basic color by selecting it when we click on it again, we see that the properties panel now changes to show the materials. The quickest way of giving it a wash of color is to click the little swatch next to the diffuse item here and now we can just choose a greenish lizardy color and there we go, we can see that's applied to the lizard in the background. Well, it's a start, but we can do a lot better than this. Rather than simply having a wash of color let's make the new texture for it. So again, from the diffuse item and we're going to choose new texture. It comes up with the size of the document we're working on. That's fine we can use that and it will open with a completely blank texture in a new window. And we can see this is a PSB document that means it's an internal document format inside another Photoshop document. If we look at the original lizard it's turned completely white and that's because our texture is a white texture…
