Creating a 3D chocolate candy in Photoshop

- All things change in time, and Photoshop has changed over time as we see so many new features get added to each new version. What we're going to do right now is show how something is done differently today than when it was originally done. When I created my Times Square piece a few years ago, I did a whole series here at Lynda.com on its creation. The little M&M's that we see on the billboards in the Center and up 7th Avenue, were all done using the 3D functions in Illustrator. Now the 3D functions in Photoshop, far more advanced than they were back then. So we're going to do the M&M now using Photoshop. Now I have a layer here with an "m." So what I'm going to do is I'm going to just come up here and say "select all" and I'm going to copy it. On here, make sure I'm in the "m" right there and say "copy." Okay, that's it. Now I could deselect it and turn our background back on and turn off the "m." We don't need the "m" anymore. What I'm going to do is in the background, create a new…
