- [Instructor] In this movie, I would like to create a quick and dirty homage to op art. Op art, and I'm just reading, here, from the Wikipedia entry, is short for optical art. It is a style that uses optical illusions. So, op art works on abstract. Many of the better known pieces are black and white. Typically, they give the viewer the impression of movement, hidden images, flashing, and vibrating patterns, and one of the best known artists associated with op art is Bridget Riley, so I recommend that you check out her work. I've got to begin with nothing but a blank canvas, and on this blank canvas, I will convert my background layer to a smart object. Then, come to the filter menu and to sketch and halftone pattern. I'll have a line pattern, I'll increase its size and contrast to the maximum settings. Now, before I go further, I need to expand the size of my layer, and you'll see why in a moment, because what I want to do now is add a wave, and there's going to be a complication…
