Join Justin Seeley for an in-depth discussion in this video Courses to help you understand Photoshop 3D, part of Photoshop for Designers: Practical 3D Designs.
- [Narrator] If you're new to 3D, or if you simply just need a refresher of how the tools work inside of Photoshop, I've gathered a list of courses and resources here to help get you started. First up is Introducing Photoshop: 3D with Deke McClelland. Deke does a wonderful job of breaking down the basic three-dimensional tools inside of Photoshop and he packs it all into one single course where you get to follow along on some really interesting projects as well. Second is Creating a 3D Logo in Photoshop with Steve Caplin. Steve's sort of our resident 3D and Photoshop expert here, and this is a great project course that takes you soup to nuts thought the entire process of creating a 3D logo.
Next, if you want to take the 3D part of Photoshop just a little but further, you might want to check out 3D Printing with Photoshop by Ryan Kittleson. This is a great course that talks about the 3D modeling and printing aspects of Photoshop, which a lot of people love to do. You can also check out Creating 3D Type in Photoshop, also by Steven Caplin. This is a great course focusing primarily on typography effects and also allowing you to go through a soup to nuts project with Steve. Finally, if you're not much of a video person or you'd rather have that hands on feel with a book, I suggest checking out 3D Photoshop: Imagine, Model, Create, also by Steve Caplin.
I picked up my copy recently on Amazon and you can do the same. It's also available in digital on various platforms like Amazon Kindle, any itunes/ibook store. In any case, hopefully these resources give you what you need in order to get started with 3D and Photoshop, or that quick refresher if that's what you're looking for. Once you're up to speed, feel free to come back and watch this course so that you can follow along with the projects I've set up for you.
