Correcting distortion with Perspective Warp (CC 2014.1)
- In this movie we will be taking a look at a new feature which is called "perspective warp." This feature is especially helpful for correcting distortion in your photographs of buildings, whether it's a building in a downtown location or a 100-year-old cabin, like with this photograph that I captured here. We can run perspective warp right on the background layer, or you can also run it on a separate layer as well. Here in this movie what I want to do is duplicate the background layer so that we can compare and contrast our result, so let's go ahead and click and drag this down to the new layer icon, then double click the layer name and let's call this "perspective warp." It may also be a good idea to work on a duplicate layer in case you make a mistake, because this can be a little bit tricky. Now often what will happen is when we capture images we may not notice distortion when we make the photograph, but then after the fact we'll notice that this chimney isn't standing up…
