Compositing the frozen image with Motion
- In order to create the cinemagraph, we'll need to add a static frame. After Effects makes this pretty easy, but you'll need to generate some new media. To do this, park the play head on a frame that you want to freeze. Then, choose Composition, Save Frame As, File. This will allow you to make a new file. Typically a Photoshop file. Let's place this into our working folder. I'll click Save. It adds it in. If I go under the Output Module Options here, I can choose for the post render action to import it back into the project. I'll click Render, and it adds it in. Now, let's take a look at that overlook. We'll park the play head on a good frame. That looks good. Composition, Save Frame As, File. Look at your settings. Here's the danger. Because we were previewing at a lower quality, it rendered using the current settings. That could be potentially problematic. What we want to do here is choose Best Settings and let's duplicate this up top to render it again and choose Best Settings…
