Composing a shot of the Palouse Falls
- It's a short walk to the falls, and as I make the walk I think about all the fortunate times I've had to experience this waterfall. I've seen a rainbow bursting out of the sky at the last second of sunset, I've seen a dust storm where I was blinded by the crazy wind. And this is new, this is gonna be an experience where it's gonna be partially frozen, and we're gonna get to see icicles, so I'm really excited about this opportunity. I'm headed to one spot in particular along the cliff's edge. It's my favorite place to shoot the falls from. It enables me to capture the image without any foreground of rocks, so that you just lead right into the falls. We've arrived at my favorite spot. Now, before I approach to the edge here, it's a thousand foot sheer drop-off, there's a couple things I need to keep in mind. First, I wanna make sure and get ready away from the edge. So my backpack is further away. On my belt I've got my filters ready to go. My camera's mounted on my tripod, so…
