Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Combining different kinds of adjustments, part of Photoshop CC 2015 New Features.
- In this movie, I'll introduce you…to a couple of by-products of your ability…to apply color adjustments to Smart Objects.…First, we'll see what can happen when you…change the order of your color adjustments.…And second, we'll see how you can combine…Smart Object adjustments along…with adjustment layers to grade effect.…So, let's say that I want this image to be…a little darker with a little more contrast, as well.…With the Smart Object selected,…I'll go up to the image menu, choose adjustments,…and then choose Brightness/Contrast.…And I ended up taking the brightness value…down to -20, like so.…
And then, I took the contrast value…up to 15.…You want to make sure the Use Legacy checkbox is off,…unless you want to clip colors in your image.…After which point, go ahead and click OK…to apply that modification.…And now, I'm going to zoom in…on the turtle's face a little bit.…Notice that while the image is darker,…the shadows are a fairly dull brown.…Notice also, that brightness contrast appears…at the top of the smart filters list.…
