- In this movie, we're gonna scale this photograph…so that the octopus better fills the frame.…And we're also gonna sharpen both of the images…using a special application of the High Pass filter.…Now before I go any farther, you may wonder why…I keep going back to High Pass.…Why don't I use the logical sharpening filter,…which is Smart Sharpen, and there's a couple of reasons.…First of all, High Pass, especially with portrait shots…and with animal shots as well, does a better job…of reducing the luminance clipping…to black or to white around the edges of your image.…
And secondly, Smart Sharpen works very differently…in Photoshop CC than it does in Photoshop CS6.…It's also very slow, where these images are concerned,…in Photoshop CC and so I just want to…eliminate as much confusion as possible, after all…High Pass is so very quick and so very easy to use.…Alright, but the first thing I…need to do is scale this octopus.…So I'm gonna zoom out from the image quite a bit here.…And then I'll go up to the Edit menu and choose…
