Join Deke McClelland for an in-depth discussion in this video Column, row, and margin guides, part of Photoshop CC 2014 New Features.
- In this movie, I'll show you how to work with…the New Guide Layout command in Photoshop CC,…which allows you to automatically establish…column, row, and margin guides.…Now, notice that I've already established a couple of guides…that bisect the center of this image.…And if you're working along with me and not seeing…those guides, then go ahead and press "Control-Semicolon"…or "Command-Semicolon" on the Mac, which is…the keyboard shortcut for turning the guides on and off.…Now, I'm going to go up to the View Menu, and choose…New Guide Layout, and that'll bring up this this dialog box.…
The Preview Checkbox is turned on by default,…so that you can see what you're doing.…Now, notice that we're still seeing the horizontal…and vertical guide that bisect the center of the image.…I'm going to get rid of them by turning on…the Clear Existing Guides checkbox,…and now notice that both of those guides go away.…Now, by default, Photoshop presents you with eight columns,…with a gutter of 20 pixels between each one.…But you can choose from other presets as well,…
