- So this is where we're gonna start; this is an old shot taken down at Cabo San Lucas while on vacation once, and it's going to be perfect for our little cavern, the Sacred Cavern. Now, we're gonna change the look of this considerably throughout the exercise, but, what we're gonna do right now is we're gonna change the color of the stone itself. All this stuff in here; we wanna give it more of a golden color. So, there's a lot of different ways of selecting this. One way would be with the magic wand, or, say, with the little quick selection tools. I can just click and start dragging across this whole area here, that's gonna take a little time.
So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take the good 'ole Lasso, and I'm gonna kinda just do it this way, I'm gonna just select the areas right around here, and, a lot of this is gonna get covered, so it doesn't matter, and I just wanna get the rocks going. Then I go up to the top and across, and down, and I got it. Any parts that I'm missing I can either hold down my shift key and just go up there and select that little spot there, we can see that we have the entire area of the stone selected. So, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to that layer, make sure I'm in that layer right there, and I'm gonna go into my Hue Saturation.
So, I'll come up here, and, under my adjustments we have hue saturation, and what I'm going to do is, not just move the slider around, 'cause you can see what it's going to do to the rocks. You see that? No, I don't want that. What I want to do is I'm gonna hit the colorize button, and what's gonna happen there is that all the stone will change to a specific color in the hue slider, all of them, rather than introducing all these other weird tones in there so now I can bring this down into the golden tones that I want, right about there and punch up that saturation just enough so I start to get this nice golden hue to all our stone.
Click okay, and that's the beginnings of our little scene here. The area down here is going to be covered up, so it doesn't matter that it looks the way it does, 'cause that's gonna be covered up with an actual beach, which will start to give our cavern some scale, and that's what's gonna happen in the next movie, we're gonna introduce some things going on on this beach down here that are gonna make it look like this cavern is huge.
