Join Seán Duggan for an in-depth discussion in this video Challenges, part of Create a Portrait Collage in Photoshop.
- [Voiceover] This course includes one video called Challenges. Challenges are extra projects that give you a hands on opportunity to practice and master what you're learning. I'll start the challenge by describing your core objectives for the activity. The challenge will involve using several images to create a portrait collage. Your skill level with Photoshop masking and compositing will determine how long it takes you to complete the image, but you can expect to spend at least an hour to complete the challenge. When you've completed the challenge, make sure to click on the matching solution video.
In the solution, I'll show you how I chose to create a composite using these images. I'll deconstruct my layered file so you can see what I did. And I'll share some of my thinking along the way. Again this is an opportunity for you to master what you've been learning. I hope you have fun with it.
In this course, photographer, author, and educator Seán Duggan steps you through the process of using Photoshop to combine a set of portraits into a collage. He uses the compositing features of Photoshop, including layers, selections, masks, and Smart Objects, in combination with the transform and tonal styling tools for maximum creative impact. These techniques will help you build a new portrait collage from scratch and discover some new tricks in Photoshop along the way.
