Caring for ports

- [Instructor] One of the more delicate, and oftentimes expensive, parts of our underwater photo setup are the ports. So, in this movie, we're going to talk about how to care for our glass and acrylic ports. So, we're going to start off with caring for our glass ports. So, with these glass ports, obviously the first thing we want to do is we want to be rinsing those ports with fresh water after every dive and drying them with a microfiber towel. Now, this is going to prevent water spotting, which can oftentimes be really hard to get off a port. If we do happen to get some salt or water spots, these can be removed with the glass polish. But, please, check with the manufacturer before you apply any kind of cleaner to a port. Most of these manufacturers will give you a recommendation that's included with the literature when you're buying these ports that will tell you what's appropriate to use for cleaning their product.
