To restore the most fragile hair or fur details, create a duplicate layer in back of the original. For dark hair, set the layer to Multiply. For light hair, set the layer to Screen. Try an Opacity value of 50% to round out the composition.
- [Instructor] Alright now our fur…is in surprisingly good shape at this point.…We do have a little darkness…exhibited up here at the top of the hood.…Now that's gonna completely disappear in the context…of the final composition…but I do want you to notice how much fur we have…when all is said and done…compared to what we have now.…So these edges in particular,…I want you to notice them.…They're a little thin compared…to what we're gonna have eventually.…So notice in the final composition…we have this tiny little hair up here,…we've got this guy as well,…where as currently both of those hairs are missing.…
And that's a function of having applied that shift edge…value because we contracted the edge inward 30%,…we lost a lot of the wispier details.…Well, you can bring those back using a blended layer…which is why I created a copy of that hood layer…before I applied the refinement.…So down here we've got the original mask.…And so what I'm gonna do is turn that layer on…and you can see that all that badness…comes back right there.…
