As you move away from your subject, you need to compensate for the increased backscatter (stuff that's in the water between you and your subject).

So that distance has increased, but our…strobes are still where they were when…we were shooting extremely…close to the subject.…Our camera to subject distance is not the…same as our camera to strobe distance.…You would think this wouldn't be a big deal.…
