A very popular genre for web-based content is stop motion animation. This genre spans gorgeous films to social media posts created with mobile devices. How do you create a stop motion animation? In this video, author Richard Harrington demonstrates how to bring the stop motion animation together in Adobe After Effects.
- Adobe After Effects is a motion graphics tool,…and it makes it very easy…to work with stop-motion or time-lapse sequences,…as well as add text and sound to the finished movie.…Let me give you a quick overview on how to use it.…What I need to do is bring in my movie.…So let's make a new project here,…and choose File,…Import, File.…Navigate to the folder of JPEGs that you recently created,…and single-click on the first image.…
Don't double-click.…Choose to import this as a sequence.…And I would suggest the Force alphabetical order box…to avoid any potential gaps.…Now, when you click Open,…it brings that in as a sequence of images.…Let's double-click on that and press Play.…And you see that the movie is loaded.…That looks good.…Now, there's a couple tricks here.…
You might recall that we talked about how a movie file,…a regular one that you shoot on a video camera,…has between 24 and 60 frames per second.…Well, these are still images,…and I have enough to create a very short animation…of about five seconds at 30 frames a second.…
