- [Instructor] The art history brush can be a fun way…to create a painterly effect in Photoshop.…The only problem is that the default settings…don't always give us the results that we want…so let's take a look to see how we can fix that.…The art history brush allows you to work with…a snapshot in the history panel in order…to create a painting form your photograph.…So when you first open up a document,…Photoshop will automatically take this snapshot…and it sets the history or the art history brush…to sample from that snapshot.…So in the tool panel, I'll select the art history brush…and then I'll right click in order to reset the tool.…
Just like a lot of the other painting tools,…we have different options for blend modes and opacity…but the art history brush also has style,…area and tolerance.…So under the style menu, we can choose from either…a tighter style or a looser style and that's gonna refer…to how close the brush follows the lines that it finds…in the original image.…And then we also have options for short, medium or long…
