Applying multiple focus areas (CC 2014)
In the previous movie, we were introduced to the topic of working with the iris blur filter. In this movie we will continue our conversation about using that too,l and we'll look at a workflow example, where we'll be applying two areas of focus in this photograph. Let's begin by converting the Background layer to a Smart Object layer. Here we'll navigate to that Filter pulldown menu, then we'll choose Convert for Smart Filters. In this dialogue click OK to convert this layer to a smart object layer, double-click that layer name and let's call this one Iris. Next, we'll navigate back to filter, here we'll choose blur gallery, then select Iris blur. This will launch the image in the blur category and it will apply, an Irish blur effect. With this effect we know that we can use these on screen controls to increase the blur, and let's do that just for demo purposes, at least initially.
