When we create type in Photoshop, we are often creating type for screens,…so we have an additional option that we won't find in InDesign and that is…anti-aliasing. There are five choices: None, Sharp, Crisp, Strong, and Smooth.…Firstly, what is anti-aliasing?…Well, it is the addition of transition color pixels from the color of your…type to the color of the background to give the effect of smooth curves and diagonals.…If we take a look at enlarged view of this S that has no anti-aliasing applied,…we see that because the pixels are square, wherever there is a diagonal,…wherever there is a curve, we get this presumably undesirable, unless you…perhaps like this look, this jagged effect.…
But if we now look at the sharp anti-aliasing, then we can see that we have…these additional color pixels added in around the edges.…I am going to zoom in just a little bit further.…So, this is no longer just one color, but is probably three additional colors,…in addition to the color of the text.…There is no right or wrong anti-aliasing choice;…
