Adjusting the ambient light
- [Instructor] So here you can see that I've spent a little bit more time on the ambient light illustration. I've added a lot of shadows and shadings everywhere in the illustration. In the figure, also in the background. Basically what I tried to do is to keep everything very soft and diffused. Now the ambient light is a very broad and soft light source and light is basically going everywhere. So when you make something dark in the ambient light, make sure that it's a place where the light has a hard time to reach. For example, here in the mouth or inside the eyes or under the head. This should be the darkest points in your ambient light. And then just try to eyeball the intensity of the grays, you can adjust it backwards and forwards until you like what you see. I'd like to point out that I have created a drop shadow here on the ground caused by the figure. It is soft and it is not too dark because with the figure floating in the air, the light can come from all sides and in this…
