Join Chris Converse for an in-depth discussion in this video Adjusting a Smart Object registration point, part of Design the Web: Video Graphics and Animation.
Next we're going to animate the yellow block.…Let's bring the playhead back to the 1 second and 15 frame mark.…Let's close up the properties for olive branch; open up the properties for color 1.…Let's come in here and before we do anything, let's hit cmd or ctrl + t to transform.…Let's extend this out a little bit; again, this is a smart object.…Once we have that in place, let's come over here, click on Transform. Move this out to…the 3 second mark. Let's hit cmd or ctrl + t again to transform.…Now the reason that we extended this is I want to rotate this around and I want to make sure…that the corner doesn't show up on the canvas.…
The second thing we're going to do is take the registration point and move this from…being in the center to the lower right-hand corner.…Now with that moved, I will move my cursor out a little bit. Get my Rotation tool. I'm going…to click and drag. Let's rotate this around until its vertical and then let's move it down…here a little bit as well. Then hit Return. That will give us our second transform keyframe.…
