You've already seen the vibrance adjustment in action, but I want to explore in greater depth. Vibrance is the ability to control saturation, as well as selective saturation, that particular comes in handy when dealing with flesh tones, green grass and blue skies. In this particular image here that I've selected, the sky is little washed out, I don't want to boost the elephant color too much, and I don't want posterization. If I use a standard saturation adjustment and I crank the saturation, you'll see that the image starts to get posterized and quickly looks artificial. I'll go ahead and click the Delete icon to get rid of that. Instead with vibrance you have Saturation and Vibrance. This Saturation is different and it doesn't posterize like the other, you can crank that all the way up and still have a very clean image in most cases. What I am going to do here is raise the overall Saturation and then put a lot of emphasis on Vibrance, which is going to boost the non-skin tones. So…
