Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding transitions and effects, part of Photoshop: Editing Video and Creating Slideshows.
- Let's explore adding some transitions…and a quick overview of effects.…Transitions create a transition in time or place.…It's very common to use something classic…like a dissolve between two shots…if you want to show the passage of time,…or perhaps a fade up from black,…or at the end of a movie,…to indicate the beginning or end of a clip.…As you add transitions, some of them…will change the duration of a clip,…so it's not uncommon to have to do…a bit of trimming after the fact.…Let's drop in some transitions first…and then I'll give you a quick overview…of some of the color effects.…
At the beginning and end of my movie,…I'm going to add transitions to indicate the start and end.…This allows me, from the pop-up menu here, to choose.…For example, I'll Fade With Black and drag that down.…You'll see by default, it's a two second transition…but with it selected, you can modify that…by just dragging and assign a new duration,…such as one second.…Now, it fades up.…
Let's go to the end here,…and we're going to fade this just a little bit earlier…
