Add, subtract, and intersect selections

- [Instructor] Now I'll show you how to add, subtract, and intersect selections, which allow you to basically build up more complicated selections than you can otherwise achieve using something like the Elliptical Marquee tool. And so let's say I draw an ellipse like so. Well as we've seen, if I drag out side the selection, I'm just going to draw a new one. But what if I want to add to the selection instead? Then I would press the Shift key. At which point notice that my cursor has a little plus sign next to it, which means that I can drag in order to add to the selection. If you want to subtract from the selection, then you press and hold the Alt key. That's going to be the Option key on the Mac, at which point you'll see a minus sign next to the cursor, which allows me to subtract from the selection, like so.
