While getting dry suit certified in San Diego, Deke came across a pattern on a chair that intrigued him. (Deke has what he readily admits to be a “pattern problem.”) It featured a 24-sided star surrounded by two angles of a 12-sided void. He explored the idea in Illustrator to figure out how it works, and turns out, the trick is to draw just five anchor points with the Pen tool. Repeat those points to create a void.
