790 Creating a White Walker in Photoshop

- Hey gang, this is Deke McClellan. Welcome to Deke's Techniques. Now unless you've been living under a rock, you've at least heard of Game of Thrones. HBO's epic video series based on the epic novels from George R. R. Martin. Now if you know the TV series, you know that protagonist Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Tyrion Lannister are preparing to take on a group of snow zombies North of the wall, known as the White Walkers. The White Walkers are crazy dangerous. They stole a dragon, and now presumably they're going to kill everyone. Which is why we're going to take this guy from the Dreamstime image library, mod him up a bit, turn him blue, smooth him out, add a ton of wrinkle lines, engrave those wrinkles into his skin, darken his brow, lighten his lips, blacken the whites of his eyes, add some glowing icy blue irises, burn in the pupils, set our soulless monster against an empty Wintry background, add some very cold brittle looking snow, and finally, brighten the edges of his hood. And by the way, that last bit, have you ever wondered why you would ever use this checkbox here inside Photoshop? This one right here? Well in time I will show you. So again, here's that original stock image and here is the final result. This is just a preview. Game of Thrones will occupy all of April and I imagine well into May of 2019, and so will my techniques. Okay, so maybe you don't like dragons, or dungeons and dragons, or the geeks who play dungeons and dragons, but here's the thing, I do. Deke's Techniques each and every week. Keep being a geek.
